Upon signing the lease contract and the sales agreement with the developer, the buyer becomes the full owner of the property (building). In Bali, foreigners cannot own land; hence, land is purchased on a leasehold basis for 29 years, with a guaranteed extension of ownership for an additional 25 years. A 1% fee is charged to the notary for verification and transfer of ownership rights. The connection to utility networks depends on the distance from the networks, ranging from €400 to €700.
